A Table Top Projector Gives You Ability To Move It Around

By Ken Dragki

The best feature, and reason that most people choose to buy a home theater projector, is the fact they can easily produce an image that's 200" measured diagonally. No other type of screen can do this. In fact, a standard CRT television can only reach a screen size of 40". Clearly, an image of this magnitude can only add to the true theater experience.

A top of the line home projector can cost several thousand dollars. Fortunately, there are a number of excellent projectors in the sub $1000 range for those on a budget. For example, the Optoma HD65, Epson MovieMate 60, Optima HD20, and Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 700 are four highly-rated projectors that will cost you less than $1000.

A table top projector, while providing the same quality, gives you the ability to move it around and put it in different places. They also are lighter than a typical projector.

The market offers two main types of projectors and this include the Digital light processing (DLP) and the Liquid crystal display (LCD). The DLP was invented by Texas Instruments and uses a microscopic array of more than 2 million mirrors. It has a higher contrast than LCD however it does have one setback known as the rainbow effect, which is a burst of color noticeable when one looks from one side of the screen to the other.

As critical as getting the right projector is to get the maximum out of your viewing experience, the projector screen should not be overlooked. The screen is what the projector will display the movie or media onto. The purpose of these screens is to further enhance the quality and brilliance of the picture. - 40729
